These journeys have something to offer for anyone interested in a leisurely-paced and handcrafted journey to southwest Ireland. Wonderful, knowledgeable guides will give you an insightful look at historical and contemporary Ireland. The journey in Killarney is planned to include the 2nd Anesthesia Update Conference in Ireland, providing daily morning lectures for those combining travel and attending courses for their professional continuing education credits. For trip participants not attending the lectures, you will have your mornings free to avail of the spa amenities—pool, sauna, massage—or meander out the door of the hotel and relax in a café and welcome the passing of locals getting on with daily life. The jaunting cars can take you on a morning ride, or stroll several blocks and walk into spectacular Killarney National Park. By noon each day both groups will join-up and explore the Irish countryside with our guide and coach driver. This method of travel appeals to individuals that appreciate time in smaller groups or solo, while also having planned activities and meals organized and enjoyed as a group.
This year the conference is located in a beautiful five-star hotel and spa located in the center of Killarney town and minutes from the entrance to Killarney National Park, restaurants, pubs, shopping and music. If you would like to see more of Ireland – join the group on September 23 when we leave Killarney and travel further southwest and then east to Co Cork, Co Waterford, and Co Kilkenny and return to Co Clare and Shannon Airport for departures home on September 28, 2007. The Accommodation/Land Package cost includes 5-star accommodations, ground transportation by private coach, airport transfers, daily meals, excursions and special events, local guides and pre-trip materials. Each day after lectures, activities are planned around the landscape of Co. Kerry. Killarney has the great fortune of being geographically located in an area of Ireland surrounded by majestic mountains and the three Lakes of Killarney. The quaint tree-lined streets of Killarney always include the intersection of many horse drawn jaunting cars ready to sweep you away with a driver who takes pride in his horse and will charm you with his stories and history of this place. Killarney is the gateway to the Ring of Kerry where every bend in 100 miles of road reveals dramatic views of mountains and Atlantic Ocean. The most impressive experience of landscape – up close and personal – will be a seven-mile journey through what is known as the Gap of Dunloe, a glaciated valley against high cliffs. Explore with horse-drawn jaunting car, or by horseback. The journey concludes crossing the three lakes by boats. This hand-crafted journey includes many more planned activities and great leadership and guides. A special evening is planned to a neighboring town to attend an evening performance at the National Folk Theatre of Ireland – Siamsa Tire. The complete itinerary describes more.
